Mastering cloud sync
With cloud sync, your MyScript Notes’ content stay updated and accessible on any device. Sync with iCloud, Dropbox, or Google Drive to keep your ideas and to-do lists always within reach.
Activate cloud sync
To sync your notes, you must sign in to a cloud service and enable sync in MyScript Notes.
- Open the Notes side panel.
- Tap the ... button, then choose Settings.
- Tap Sync.
- Sign in or create a MyScript account.
- Choose iCloud, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
Syncing may take a few seconds for all notes to update across devices.
Enable or disable auto-sync
Once cloud sync is activated, you can enable auto-sync to make sure your notes are updated automatically.
- Complete the steps above.
- Turn Auto-sync on or off.
MyScript Notes will now automatically sync changes across all your devices where MyScript Notes is installed and linked to your MyScript account. Note that auto-sync is disabled in low battery mode to save power.
Display your synced notes
Once syncing is enabled, your notes are available on all devices connected to the same cloud service. Just open MyScript Notes on any synced device to view them.
- If a note is missing, make sure the latest sync has been completed.
- Check your internet connection and refresh MyScript Notes to trigger a sync update.
During syncing, .nebo files—the native format used by MyScript Notes—won’t appear in your cloud storage, but they are still stored there. These files can only be accessed and viewed through the MyScript Notes app.
Cloud conflicts
If a conflict arises between notes in the cloud and on your device, MyScript Notes will save both versions in your library. You can review them and decide which one to keep or delete.
If you edit the same note on two devices at once, a conflict can happen. Syncing lets you access notes on multiple devices, but it doesn’t allow real-time collaboration or simultaneous editing.
About sync icons
Once you’ve activated cloud sync in MyScript Notes, icons representing various sync statuses will appear, each with a specific meaning.

Once you have edited your note, it won’t be deleted at the next sync. Just tap Sync to save your changes to the cloud and update your other devices.
Synchronization vs. backup
Synchronization and backup are distinct processes. Syncing ensures that changes in your notes are updated across all devices, while backup provides a separate copy of your notes for data restoration.
